The NYS Council promotes the advancement of the science and profession of engineering in a manner consistent with the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Council’s purpose is to consolidate and coordinate the opinions and actions of each Section & Branch relative to New York State’s affairs on common interests. The Council acts as the source of state-wide information and response for the 6,600 ASCE members in New York State on issues related to Legislative, Professional Licensing, Administrative Regulations, Education. and other issues related to Civil Engineers. The Council maintains a system to provide awards on a state-wide basis.
